Settees and Dining Tables

I was talking with a friend about her idea of finding a settee for her dining room table and it made me think of some great pieces I've seen before.  Often we're stuck with a basic, boring shaped dining room or a run-of-the-mill dining set.  Mixing things up and piecing together your dining set can really add that personal look to your room.  Settees in particular can come in so many different styles and changing the wood and upholstery can give an old piece a new look.  Here are some amazing dining rooms and kitchens with settees to inspire you.

Rustic combined with linen=classy look.

I love the trestle table(possibly from Restoration hardware) combined with the settee.  I believe these homeowners were still searching for the right chairs to add.

Great high-back settee.

Bright sunny fabric on these settees warm up the more contemporary table.

Andrea Schumaker
Take a neutral settee and go wild in colors and patterns on the pillows.

Elle Decor
A classic wood settee goes fresh with white paint and white upholstery. I love how it's paired with glass and even the lucite chairs.

Horchow
This one is probably one of my favorites because of how it takes a classic dark mahogany table and pairs it with 2 captains chairs in a rustic finish and the great blue green fabric on the settees.  Add in the mercury glass and it's just stunning.

Kristin Petro Interiors
This wood tone looks wonderful with the navy geometric fabric on this armless settee.

Coastal Living
Classic dark dining table given a tone-down with the linen settee and bamboo shades and drapes.  Bling is added with that great crystal or glass chandelier.

Mark Sikes
This lower-backed settee lends a library feel to this dining room.

NY architects Inc
A great shape makes this an amazing accent piece to a boxy corner.  Who notices that with a piece like that?!

Architectural Digest
The neutral fabric is jazzed up with nailhead trim.

Velvet upholstery in a deep charcoal gray adds such drama to this dining room.

House of Smiths
These bloggers pieced together a unique and fun dining set by reupholstering a used settee.

Would you ever use a settee?  I'm sure going to be on the lookout for cute ones, whether I get to use it in my dining room or maybe in my master bedroom.

  2. Those are some gorgeous pictures Erin! I am drooling over the first picture. I would totally go for Settee with dining table. I have been looking for one for the front room, and several weeks ago when I went to DI I saw a settee on someone else's truck and they drove away! I was kicking myself for not being there earlier than that person.
